UFD London Launches with Glittering Party at Shoreditch Arts Club

Last night marked a momentous occasion in London’s fashion scene as UFD London, a hub for Ukrainian designers, made its grand debut with a lavish party at the iconic Shoreditch Arts Club. The event kicked off a dynamic pop-up shop open to the public today and tomorrow, coinciding with International Women’s Day, a poignant reminder of the strength and resilience of women amidst global turmoil.

Founded by Kateryna Platunova, a Ukrainian lawyer who found refuge in the UK with her daughters amidst the chaos of war, UFD London is a testament to her unwavering commitment to support Ukrainian creatives while embracing her newfound home. Inspired by the overwhelming support the UK has shown for Ukraine, Platunova saw London as the perfect launchpad for her vision.

The launch party at Shoreditch Arts Club was a star-studded affair, graced by esteemed guests including Geoff Cooper of SAGABOI, Jennifer Drougett of Anciela London, and Hector Maclean, among others. Also in attendance were various Ukrainian dignitaries, highlighting the significance of this event in bridging cultures and fostering solidarity.

Central to UFD London’s mission is its showcase of Ukrainian brands, with Gasanova, Nadya Dzyak, Gudu, and The Coat by Katya Silchenko among the standout labels featured. Over 20 Ukrainian brands are represented on the UFD ecommerce platform, providing a global platform for these talented designers to reach a wider audience.

Throughout the week-long pop-up, designers from Mazini and Karunas will be present to engage with the public and share insights into their collections. Additionally, attendees can explore a curated selection of perfumes and candles from The Perfumer’s Story, founded by British “perfumer to the stars,” Azzi Glasser, who passionately supports Ukrainian fashion and business.

The event was beautifully adorned with floral arrangements by macaron, founded by Ukrainian florist and decorator Mariia Yaremchuk, adding an elegant touch to the vibrant atmosphere. Captivating moments from the evening were captured by the talented team at Unique Agency UK, encapsulating the essence of UFD London’s inaugural celebration.
